Energy Storage Technologies for mobile Applications

Module description in the MTS

Credits (ECTS): 6LP (4 SWS)

Content

The module Energy Storage Technologies for mobile Applications (MEST) addresses different energy storage technologies considering their characteristics and their applicability for mobile Applications. Furthermore, the module deals with the functionalities of a battery management system and its construction exemplary for lithium ion systems. Parallel to the lecture an exercise is held that consolidates and deepens the lecture content. Additionally does the exercise include some preparations for the practical exercise during the second half of the module, which include simple modelling approaches and variations of state estimations in Matlab Simulink. The practical exercise consolidates the knowledge regarding the construction and the battery management of the latest battery systems. During the exercise a battery system model will be implemented, the state will be estimated and additional functionalities of a battery management system will be put to practice.
